With a playoff game on the line, the Port Charlotte Pirates rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Gators 94-15 at home. Port Charlotte's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Hailey Cohen, who scored 44 points along with 17 rebounds and 13 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Elyanna Pierre was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six steals and five assists.
Port Charlotte has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Island Coast, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16.
Port Charlotte will be playing in front of their home fans against Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Port Charlotte is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cypress Lake in Florida (Port Charlotte is ranked 137th, while Cypress Lake is ranked 322nd). Island Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
