Baseball Recap: The First Academy Takes Down Ranked Bixby

The First Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bixby. The First Academy was the clear victor by a 12-5 margin over Bixby. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

The First Academy got a great performance from Kyle Hopper as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Remo Indomenico was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Luis Machado was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

The win (which was The First Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bixby, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

The First Academy has already played their next match, a 13-7 win against Tate on the 20th. As for Bixby, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-3 victory against Olympia on the 20th.
