The West Point Green Wave's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over Lafayette. That's another feather in the cap for West Point, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lafayette's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Madison Smith, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Harmony Jackson who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
West Point's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Lafayette, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Point will take on Ripley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lafayette, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Clarksdale at 6:00 p.m.
