The Hatch Valley Bears lost against the Chaparral Lobos back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Hatch Valley took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lobos. Hatch Valley has not had much luck with the Lobos recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caydence Roberts, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Holguin, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Hatch Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Chaparral, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hatch Valley will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Hondo Valley is ranked 146th, while the Bears are ranked 130th). As for Chaparral, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Jaguars at 2:30 p.m.
