The Hampton Talbots had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They snuck past Taylor Allderdice with a 57-53 win. This was payback for Hampton, who suffered a 74-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Taylor Allderdice lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Pavle Slepcev, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Slepcev is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Logan Golle was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Taylor Allderdice's lineup was just a bit different on Saturday as Lukas Stead got a bit more time on the court (25 vs. his season average of 12.77). Stead made the most of the opportunity, scoring 11 points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Hampton is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Taylor Allderdice, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-4.
