The Cross Keys Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Atlanta Jewish Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cross Keys of the 30-28 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Cross Keys still got an impressive performance from Keandre Tucker, who scored 24 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Christian Holmes, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Zac Agichtein was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds for Atlanta Jewish Academy. That makes it four consecutive games in which Agichtein has scored at least a third of Atlanta Jewish Academy's points. Edan Eyal was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Cross Keys has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Atlanta Jewish Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cross Keys is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Clarkston at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Clarkston is coming into the matchup with seven straight losses at home, so Cross Keys is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Atlanta Jewish Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
