Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Allie Egolf, who posted nine points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Walker, who earned seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Manchester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Churubusco posted their biggest win since November 9, 2024 two weeks ago. They blew past Fort Wayne Canterbury 50-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Churubusco's win came from a few key players Manchester will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Patty Wiggs, who put up 13 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Price, who had ten points and five steals.
Churubusco's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Manchester has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Churubusco struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Manchester against Churubusco when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 53-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manchester since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
