Basketball Recap: Cy Christensen Key Part of a Team Effort in Clippers Win

Clearview lost to Wellington back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Clearview Clippers came out on top against the Wellington Dukes by a score of 70-57. The Clippers pushed the score to 50-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dukes cut but never quite recovered from.

Clearview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cy Christensen, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The match was Christensen's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deacon Delgado, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

Clearview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Clearview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Wellington, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Clearview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-49 victory against Columbia on the 10th. As for Wellington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-41 defeat against Keystone on the 10th.
