The Ysleta Indians won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a serious blow against Bel Air, falling 55-19. Ysleta was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-4.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Ysleta struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bel Air racked up 14 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bel Air to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Saldana, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Adalyn Palomo, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals.
Ysleta has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season. As for Bel Air, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Horizon the next time they take the court. Ysleta will host the Scorpions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Highlanders will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
