Hamilton is a perfect 6-0 against Casteel since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Colts at 3:45 p.m. Hamilton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Hamilton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Desert Vista, who was ranked third at the time (Hamilton was ranked 18th). The Huskies took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder on Wednesday.
Amanda Benites was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Taylor Hampton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Casteel). Everything went their way against Notre Dame Prep on Thursday as they made off with a 16-6 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Colts considering their one-run performance the game before.
Ella Guttierrez was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Guttierrez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Casteel got a massive performance out of ADDISON RAMSEY, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave RAMSEY a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaedyn Carillo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Casteel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Notre Dame Prep only posted an OBP of .417.
Casteel has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hamilton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Casteel struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hamilton got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Casteel by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
