The Fairfield Eagles were the 75-44 winner over the Teague Lions when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Fairfield fell 75-63 to Teague on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), Fairfield still had to take the loss.
Teague's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Leija, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Leija has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jehmel Rice, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Fairfield and nudges their season record down to 12-19. As for Teague, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.
Fairfield will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. Fairfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three matchups. As for Teague, they will head out on the road to challenge Westwood at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood is coming into the contest with five straight losses at home, meaning Teague will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
