Pawnee is 1-8 against South County since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pawnee Indians will head out on the road to face off against the South County Vipers at 6:00 a.m. Pawnee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 514th, while South County is ranked 187th).
Pawnee suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Wednesday. Their tough 38-14 defeat to Auburn might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pawnee has scored all season.
South County posted their biggest victory since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-28 win over Mt. Olive at home. The win was nothing new for South County as they're now sitting on three straight.
Pawnee has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for South County, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.
Things could have been worse for Pawnee, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-37 loss to South County when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Pawnee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
