After a string of four wins, the Discovery Canyon Thunder's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 62-34 loss at the hands of Lutheran. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Discovery Canyon has scored all season.
Discovery Canyon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Eckles, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Micah Rohacs, who scored eight points.
Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hunter Caldwell, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Jacob, who scored 15 points.
Discovery Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Discovery Canyon will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Cheyenne Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Discovery Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Lutheran, they will head out on the road to square off against Lewis-Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lutheran has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 895 points over their last 12 matchups.
