Basketball Recap: St. Martin Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

St. Martin needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Jaxon Walker. The St. Martin Yellow Jackets managed a 58-52 win over the Harrison Central Red Rebels on Wednesday thanks in part to Walker, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 23 points and five assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Terence Allen, who posted five points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Ke'Adrian Brown and Shaun Murray certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Brown dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Murray went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points and six boards. Nehemiah Barnett was another key player, putting up 12 points.

St. Martin's victory bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Harrison Central, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing D'Iberville the next time they take the court. Harrison Central will host D'Iberville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while St. Martin will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
