After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Girard, the Columbus Titans were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They blew past St. Paul 45-24. That 45-24 margin sets a new team best for Columbus this season.
Katy Mooney was the offensive standout of the match as she scored nine points along with nine steals. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Simpson, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Columbus' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for St. Paul, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-6 record last season and are now at 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will challenge Baxter Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Baxter Springs is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. St. Paul will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oswego at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
