The Fullerton Warriors will be playing at home against the Riverside Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Fullerton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-44 to Ansley/Litchfield. Fullerton has struggled against Ansley/Litchfield recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their defeat, Fullerton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kane Wetovick, who scored 8 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Terrick Gonsior was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Riverside lost to Heartland on the road by a decisive 68-52 margin on Saturday.
Riverside's defeat came about despite a quality game from Drew Carraher, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Molt, who scored 10 points.
Their wins bumped Fullerton to 3-2 and Ansley/Litchfield to 3-0.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's match: Fullerton have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.6 threes per game. It's a different story for Riverside, though, as they've been averaging only 0 per game. Given Fullerton's sizeable advantage in that area, Riverside will need to find a way to close that gap. Fullerton came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverside when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 46-43. Will Fullerton repeat their success, or does Riverside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
