Softball Recap: Robinson Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Robinson). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the North Central Thunderbirds a 17-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Maroons considering their two-run performance the game before.

Olivia Chiasson looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery Strauch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhianna Moss, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Robinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Robinson now has a winning record of 13-12. As for North Central, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Looking ahead, Robinson will look to defend their home field on Monday against Lawrenceville at 4:30 p.m. As for North Central, they will square off against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
