The Leonard Lancers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 83-58 margin over Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Considering Leonard has won four matchups by more than 24 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Leonard was led to victory by Cory Jones and Emmanuel Augustin. Jones went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 3 assists, while Augustin scored 19 points along with six assists and three steals. The matchup was Augustin's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Reggie Presendieu was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four blocks.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zidane Guerrier, who scored 25 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Guerrier posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Tyson Jimerson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Leonard's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Leonard will be home for the holidays to greet Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dr. Joaquin Garcia is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Trinity Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Thursday.
