Owensboro found a leader in Evan Hampton as the team took down Apollo on Friday. Hampton made a splash, rushing for 189 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. He played a big game the last time he faced Apollo back in September of 2024, so the team probably should've seen him coming. Hampton has become a key player for Owensboro: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Coming up, Hampton and Owensboro will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshall County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will pit Hampton up against the Marshals' star rusher Kayson Holland. Will the game be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.
