Bennington is 1-9 against Moundridge since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bennington Bulldogs are on the road again and plays the Moundridge Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Bennington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
Even though Bennington has not done well against Sedgwick recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Bennington took down Sedgwick 48-30. Given Bennington's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Sedgwick is ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Eli Lawson, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. Kian Wilson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Moundridge gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Marion on the road to the tune of 65-38. The victory was familiar territory for Moundridge who now have four in a row.
Bennington has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Moundridge, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Bennington came up short against Moundridge in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-49. Can Bennington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
