Softball Recap: Greensburg Salem Extends Winning Streak to Three

Greensburg Salem had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Valley Vikings a 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Golden Lions, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Cate Waugaman was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tymara White, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Greensburg Salem's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Valley, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coincidentally, Greensburg Salem and Valley will both be playing Knoch the next time they take the field. The Vikings will host the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Golden Lions will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
