Forge Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Brush Beetdiggers 78-47. The Fury have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 24 points or more this season.
Forge Christian had a senior duo take command as Owen Hovis shot 91% from the field on his way to 24 points and six assists and Jakan Sederwall went 9-for-12 en route to 21 points and four steals. Sederwall also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 75%. Another player making a difference was Levi Clark, who posted six points and nine rebounds.
Brush lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Thatcher Queen, who earned ten points. Eric Rico was another key player, putting up five points and six assists.
Forge Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. With the defeat, Brush broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-13.
Forge Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-73 victory against Banning Lewis Academy on the 8th. Brush does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
