The Liberty County Bulldogs came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Wewahitchka 48-12 at home. The result was nothing new for Liberty County, who have now won seven contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Liberty County had a senior duo take command as Caleigh Peddie scored 14 points and Gabriella Flowers scored 13 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Flowers has scored at least 25% of Liberty County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Walker, who scored six points.
Liberty County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Wewahitchka, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Community Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. Wewahitchka won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. John Paul II at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. St. John Paul II comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
