Clinton has gone a perfect 3-0 against Onsted recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Redwolves will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m.
On Thursday, Clinton didn't have quite enough to beat Lincoln and fell 11-10.
Lydia Ormsby made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kylinn Long, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Onsted came into Monday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Sand Creek on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 20, 2024.
Megan Hunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Hill, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ashlynn Wilson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Onsted's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Clinton, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4.
Onsted's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clinton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. It's a different story for Onsted, though, as they've only averaged .333. Will they be able to contain Clinton's hitters?
Everything went Clinton's way against Onsted when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Clinton made off with a 16-0 win. Do the Redwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
