Tri-Valley recap Sept. 26, 2012
Humboldt moved up to 171 from 200 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Tri-Valley. The Cubs climbed the ranks as a result of a 50-6 win over Oswego.
Cherryvale was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Chargers triumphed over the Chargers 21-13.
Neodesha's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Justice Baird threw for 73 yards and Dierks Hayden had 46 yards receiving. On the ground Baird chipped in 189 yards. John Garcia helped Neodesha's passing attack out by catching one ball for 27 yards.
Neodesha's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Blue Streaks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Baird has thrown for 281 yards and one touchdown this season, while Hayden has nine catches for 132 yards. Jake Crawford leads the league in rushing with 442 yards.
A big matchup in Tri-Valley this week will be when Cherryvale takes on Humboldt. As it stands, Harry Hester's team is in fourth, while Mike Miller's team is in second.
The Cubs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,511 from 12,525. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 50-6 victory over the Indians last week.
