While it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, The Snake River Panthers were not quite the Preston Indians''s equal in the second half on Friday. Snake River was just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to Preston. Snake River was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Preston apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Preston can attribute much of their success to Karson Winder, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Winder definitely has the trust of the coaching staff as he's now carried the ball at least 25 times in the last three games he's played.
Snake River's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Preston, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Snake River will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wood River at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Wood River is ranked 66th, while Snake River is ranked 49th). As for Preston, they will head out on the road to face off against Pocatello at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Pocatello will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
