Butler won the last time they met up with Emerson, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Butler was the clear victor by a 37-21 margin over Emerson. Butler's victory was all the more impressive since the Cavaliers were averaging only 14.63 points allowed on the season.
The game started off well for Butler, whose offense put up 21 first-half points. Emerson countered with 14 points, leaving the score at 21-14 going into the half. The offense for Butler continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 16 points to put the game away.
The win was the third in a row for the Bulldogs and raised their record to 7-2. The Cavaliers are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4. Both of these squads appear to have finished up the season, as they have no upcoming games scheduled.
