Basketball Recap: Green Hill Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Green Hill extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Kataira Tolbert. The Green Hill Hawks had just enough and edged the Beech Buccaneers out 41-39 thanks in part to Tolbert, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marykate Long, who went 5 of 12 en route to 10 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tia Nix, who posted 12 points.

Green Hill's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 5.5 points across that stretch. As for Beech, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Green Hill has already played their next contest (against Gallatin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Beech, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 42-38 loss against Hendersonville on the 11th.
