The Delphi Community Oracles fought the good fight in their overtime match against the North White Vikings on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 74-72. Delphi Community was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North White apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Several Oracles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Walker Jones, who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Jones scored a full 31.9% of Delphi Community's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Hartley, who scored 12 points along with 9 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Delphi Community and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for North White, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delphi Community will take on Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North White, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Attica at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st.
