The Coconut Creek Cougars's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Taravella Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Coconut Creek's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Taravella's offense will have their work cut out for Taravella.
Last Thursday, Coconut Creek ended up a good deal behind South Plantation and lost 46-30. Coconut Creek has not had much luck with South Plantation recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Devonique Thompson, who scored 10 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Abigail Theophile, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Taravella didn't have too much trouble with Pompano Beach on the road on Friday as they won 35-16. The victory was just what Taravella needed coming off of a 67-16 defeat in their prior contest.
Taravella relied on the efforts of SARAH ZOUAGHI , who scored 12 points, and BRIANNA WHITTAKER, who scored 16 points.
Coconut Creek's victory bumped their season record to 2-3 while South Plantation's loss dropped theirs to 1-2.
Coconut Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Taravella when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 52-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coconut Creek since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
