Basketball Recap: Bear Lake Skates Past Leland with Ease

While Bear Lake didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Leland Comets 71-42 on Monday. The Lakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 29 points or more this season.

Bear Lake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grady Harless, who posted 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The contest was Harless' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Easton Nowak, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Harless wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Bear Lake was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bear Lake's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.5 points. As for Leland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Bear Lake has already played their next game, a 72-3 win against Walkerville on the 18th. Leland and Onekama will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
