The Gilroy Mustangs will square off against the Westmont Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Westmont will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Gilroy extended their winning streak to five on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand Santa Teresa a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Dani Wilson and Ariela Yslava made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wilson tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Yslava pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wilson went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Yslava went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Wilson has posted since back in March.

Gilroy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Westmont made sure to put some runs up on the board against Leigh on Thursday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 13-1 victory. The game marked the Warriors' most dominant win of the season.
Natalie Saenz looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Maddie Tanaka was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Corbett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Gilroy's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Westmont, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.
Gilroy skirted past Westmont 1-0 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
