The Grand Island Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a tough blow as they fell 60-41 to Wilson. Grand Island has not had much luck with Wilson recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
It was another big night for Rian Faery, who almost dropped a triple-double on 19 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals for Wilson. Faery hasn't dropped below three steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton McInnis, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Grand Island's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Wilson, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Grand Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilson, they will head out on the road to square off against East Aurora at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilson is coming into the contest with six straight victories on the road, so East Aurora is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
