Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Ripon Christian Knights walked away with it. They took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over Rio Vista. The victory was nothing new for Ripon Christian as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ripon Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Tameling, who threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Sonke, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Ripon Christian has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.18 points. As for Rio Vista, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3.
Ripon Christian will face off against Orestimba at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Orestimba is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Rio Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
