The Wes-Del Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 61-38 walloping at the hands of Frankton. While losing is never fun, Wes-Del can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Frankton is ranked 154th).
Despite the loss, Wes-Del still got an impressive performance from Corben Price, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Adams, who scored four points along with five assists and two steals.
Frankton was led to victory by Nate Moore and Brady Carmack. Moore scored 12 points along with four steals, while Carmack scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Carmack has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Austin Nunley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Wes-Del bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Frankton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Wes-Del will head out on the road to square off against Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Randolph Southern has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21. As for Frankton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Elwood at 6:00 p.m.
