Gracie Homier made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenzie Searfoss, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Maeci Dockery was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.
Meanwhile, Tinora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Swanton. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked the Rams' highest-scoring contest to date.
Savannah Schroeder made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Madison Spangler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Tinora's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Continental, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Tinora's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Continental has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Tinora, though, as they've been averaging only 2.2 strikeouts. Will Continental keep running through batters, or will the Rams buck the trend?
Continental couldn't quite get it done against Tinora in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 8-4. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
