In what's become a running theme this season, the Poolesville Falcons gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on Northwest with a sharp 58-35 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Poolesville also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.
Leading Poolesville to victory were Alex Sosna and Breanna Salovich. Sosna scored 12 points along with five steals and two blocks, while Salovich scored 21 points along with five assists. Sosna is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Dacanay, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Poolesville back to even at 10-10. As for Northwest, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
Poolesville will challenge Magruder at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Poolesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. Northwest's road trip will continue as they head out to face Gaithersburg on February 13th. Northwest is facing Gaithersburg at the right time seeing as Gaithersburg is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
