Make it five blowout wins for the Highland Park Scots this season. They claimed a resounding 63-34 win over Schlagle/Washington on the road.
Highland Park was led to victory by Angelique Gowan-Britt and Pearmella Carter. Gowan-Britt scored 23 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Carter dropped a double-double on 22 points and 21 rebounds. Carter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of De'asia Sanders, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Highland Park's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Schlagle/Washington, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4.
Highland Park won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Saint Thomas Aquinas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Scots in Kansas (the Saints are ranked 24th, while the Scots are ranked 132nd). Schlagle/Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
