Baseball Recap: Linden Has No Trouble Against Big Valley Christian

Linden had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Big Valley Christian on Tuesday. Linden put the hurt on Big Valley Christian with a sharp 11-1 victory. Linden might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by nine runs or more this season.

Justin Sales looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marco Holguin was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cody Cox, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Linden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Big Valley Christian only posted an OBP of .185.

Linden has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Big Valley Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1.

Linden has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bret Harte on the 21st. As for Big Valley Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-3 loss against Turlock Christian on the 19th.
