Longwood has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Tilden Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Longwood: 15.2, Tilden: 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
Last Friday, Longwood came up short against Bowen and fell 37-28. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Longwood in their matchups with Bowen: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Tilden put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 38-7 victory over Hubbard at home. Tilden might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 27 points or more this season.
Tilden found their leader in underclassman Daniela Villegas-Sarmiento, who scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Villegas-Sarmiento has scored at least 25% of Tilden's points. Another player making a difference was Rachel Ruiz, who scored 10 points.
Longwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Tilden, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Longwood took their win against Tilden in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 46-24. Will Longwood repeat their success, or does Tilden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
