The West Jefferson Roughriders entered their tilt with the Triad Cardinals with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. West Jefferson walked away with a 33-21 victory over Triad on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for West Jefferson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia LeMay, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. LeMay is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaley Nott, who scored no points along with five steals.
West Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Triad, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
West Jefferson will head out on the road to take on Urbana at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Urbana presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Jefferson in Ohio (Urbana is ranked 216th, while West Jefferson is ranked 486th). As for Triad, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenon at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenon is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
