There's no place like home for the South Bend St. Joseph Indians, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Bremen by a score of 66-54 on Tuesday. The win was just what South Bend St. Joseph needed coming off of a 84-24 loss in their prior matchup.
South Bend St. Joseph's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eliana Lang, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Kenadie Schrock was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
Eliana Grubbs and Emma Kincaid certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Grubbs scored 16 points along with 9 assists and 5 rebounds, while Kincaid scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds. Grubbs is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Shively, who scored 10 points.
South Bend St. Joseph has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Bremen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Bend St. Joseph will take on South Bend Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (South Bend Adams is ranked 225th, while South Bend St. Joseph is ranked 232nd). As for Bremen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jimtown at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Jimtown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Tuesday.
