Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Sotomayor Wolves walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 75-57 win over the Hawks on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
De'Meiko Crawford and Desmaj Murphy certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Crawford scored 21 points, while Murphy scored 15 points. That was a full 36.8% of Hawkins' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sotomayor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season. As for Hawkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-14.
Sotomayor will square off against Animo Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Animo Venice's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games. Hawkins does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
