The Real Life Christian Academy Raptors will square off against the Canterbury Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Real Life Christian Academy is ranked 13th, while Canterbury is ranked 18th).
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Real Life Christian Academy walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Sports Leadership & Management 50-20 at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Real Life Christian Academy's six-point performance the match before.
Tysen Miller had a dynamite game for Real Life Christian Academy, rushing for 160 yards and five touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 21 yards and a touchdown. Miller was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Evan Wright made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Canterbury beat The Classical Academy of Sarasota 19-14 on Friday.
Canterbury can attribute much of their success to Jordan Battle, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and Roman Wilder, who rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry.
Real Life Christian Academy has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 8-3 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points per game. As for Canterbury, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Real Life Christian Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 181.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Canterbury struggles in that department as they've been even better at 253.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
