The Oxford Pirates can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on Uxbridge with a sharp 67-44 victory. The victory was just what Oxford needed coming off of a 64-44 loss in their prior game.
Oxford found their leader in underclassman Nolan Remington, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Remington has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kofi Owusu, who scored 13 points.
Uxbridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thatcher Sweeney, who scored ten points. Michael Stark was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Oxford's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Uxbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Oxford will head out on the road to square off against Auburn at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Auburn is on a three-game streak of home losses, Oxford a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Uxbridge will take on Northbridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Uxbridge's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Northbridge has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
