The Sutton Sammies will head out on the road to face off against the Millbury Woolies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Sutton is ranked 196th, while Millbury is ranked 180th).
Sutton and KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly Sutton had to settle for second. Sutton ended up on the wrong side of a tough 46-20 walloping at the hands of KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate. Sutton's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, Sutton had strong showings from Landon Dulmaine, who picked up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Josh Farrell, who gained 80 total yards and a touchdown. Dulmaine was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Millbury were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 14-7 to Rockland. The game was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Millbury couldn't answer the 7 points Rockland scored afterwards.
The losses dropped Sutton to 6-3 and Millbury to 5-4.
Sutton was dealt a bruising 36-0 defeat at the hands of Millbury when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Sutton, Ryan Gleason (who rushed for 205 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
