TAPPS Division II District 2 recap October 22, 2013
Dallas Christian extended the longest winning streak in TAPPS Division II District 2 this week by beating Brook Hill, 34-12. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Chargers.
Parish Episcopal led the league in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on Shelton.
Stephen Forester made the biggest impact on defense this week as Dallas Christian topped the Guard. The 6-foot-2 senior recorded 1 fumble and racked up 1 sack.
Preston Nix put up the best numbers in passing as Mike Wheeler's team defeated Brook Hill. He finished with 5 completions for 54 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nix's favorite target this week was Taylor Carson, who caught 5 passes for 42 yards.
Bishop Gorman's Tristan Saint and Collin Parks led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Saint has thrown for 2,133 yards this season, while Parks has 46 catches for 864 yards. The Chargers' Nix leads the league in rushing yards with 859.
A big matchup in TAPPS Division II District 2 this week will be when Prince of Peace takes on Grace Community. As it stands, the Eagles are in fourth, while the Cougars are in second.
