The result came thanks to Tatum Durrett's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Andrew Houk was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Warren East had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Franklin-Simpson on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 25, 2024, but that streak is no more.
The team relied heavily on Kavien Hinton, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. William Alexander was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Green County pushed their record up to 9-6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Warren East, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Warren East's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Green County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Warren East, though, as they've only averaged .222. Will they be able to contain Green County's hitters?
