McComb is 1-9 against Raymond since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The McComb Tigers will square off against the Raymond Rangers at 8:30 p.m. McComb will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Raymond is ranked eighth).
Even though McComb has not done well against Lanier recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. McComb slipped by Lanier 50-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for McComb.
Meanwhile, Raymond entered their tilt with Wingfield with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Raymond simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Wingfield 54-21 on the road. Raymond pushed the score to 52-17 by the end of the third, a deficit Wingfield cut but never quite recovered from.
McComb is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Raymond, their win bumped their record up to 25-4.
Things could have been worse for McComb, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-51 loss to Raymond when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can McComb avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
