Despite the defeat, Governor Thomas Johnson saw an underclassman step up: Riley Kelly scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Kelly scored a full 37.5% of Governor Thomas Johnson's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Brown, who scored 9 points.
Churchill's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Governor Thomas Johnson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
